Had a nice series of gigs with Houston-based bass player Thomas Helton, one in Bakersfield with the wonderful Kris Tiner, and one just as a duo with Thomas and myself at Beta Level here in LA. The Beta Level gig was recorded (audio only) and you can check it out here. (Youtube link - headphones are helpful).

Also recording a trio record with Nicholas Deyoe and Michael Foster in late November. Two of my favorite improvisors together in one city. Massively stoked.

Duet record with Nicholas Deyoe is finished. We put some sample tracks on a site. You can check them out (and read more about the project) here. Very, very stoked about it.

Additionally, I am a guest on a podcast called ‘Break the Mold’ which generally features jazz folk, so i am probably the most ‘out’ guy they’ve had on. BUT it was big fun, and many thanks to Alex for the interview. Topics include: my process/approach, punk rock, Crass, the dogma of ‘jazz’, the dogma of ‘free improv’, how John Bonham is better than everyone else, etc. Be sure to check it out. It will be live on Friday, October 5th 2012, and you can check it out here.
